Hi all! I am here to bring the exciting news that there will be a weekly sanctioned Magic the Gathering night in Leeds!

Basically, me and two of my friends have started the process of creating a card gaming society here in Leeds. We used to play regularly in Bradford, where has an OK Magic scene, but we think Leeds has a tonne of players who want some Magic action. We will have a taster session planned by the end of the month. The formats that will be available include draft, constructed, and casual, so just bring a deck along and have a bit of fun. Sanctioning will also be provided, with proper prize support.

The name of our society is LLAMA CCG Gaming! Remember it! Yes we can't spell.

I know the details are a bit fuzzy- we're in the process of finalising the date of the taster session with the Union, which should take a couple of days. Then it's all go! If you're interested, just reply to this thread, email me or give me a PM. I am also going to produce a weekly newsletter for the interested parties. It will include weekly activities, suggestions from the people, and may expand into other territories if people are up for it. Anyway, tell me what you think!

Sorry for the late reply- the event will be held in the Student Union building at Leeds Uni and will begin at 7:00pm on the 28th Feb. We will have more than enough room for draft, constructed or casual formats. The room will be held under the name of LLAMA CCG gaming society. I will talk to my friend who booked the room, and we will give you more details as they come. If there's any more questions, just ask!

OK, an update on the card gaming night this Wednesday.

We are starting at 6:00pm in the student union building, in the SRC in the ARC. My friend and fellow organiser James Salt will be there from 5:00pm. It is essential that you get there for 6, as we won't have enough time to finish otherwise, and you can get into the union without a student card before 7:00pm. so no excuses! You can all get in!

We will have enough boosters for drafting- up to 16 people's worth. Also there will be prizes, promo cards, and plenty of people ready for some Magic!

The first event went really well! We had 8 players who all drafted, played multiplayer, and plenty of prizes were given away as well, including official FNM cards, free rares and random promos. We're holding the event in the same room, so come along! Don't worry about getting in- the Union does not check student cards until after 6, so just get in before then. Hope to see you there!

I think I heard somewhere that there is a Magic gaming thing in the Bradford uni. If so we could go along see what's being played. VS for me hopefully.

Indeed there is, run by myself!

We run Magic the Gathering FNM tournaments, plus we also run all the premier events, including Prereleases and Pro Tour Qualifiers. Our regular venue is Meeting Room 1/2, Communal Building, Bradford University. Our weekend tournaments start at 11, FNM starts at 6:30.

Our first FNM of the year is Friday 11th, with the shiny new 'Remand' FNM foil up for grabs.

In the near future we also have our Extended PTQ for Hollywood (Win the tournament, get free flights to Hollywood for the Pro Tour!) and our Prereleases for Morningtide on the 19th & 20th of January.
