The relatively new expansion for Oblivion: Elder Scrolls III is rather good. It adds the domain of the mad-god Sheagorath to Cyrodil. I have to say though, if you've been a faithful player of Oblivion, it'll take you maybe 10 hours to complete the main quest.

That said, the expansion adds a good deal to the game. There's a whole pleathora of new items, clothes, weapons and armour to toy with introducing a wonderful American McGee style aesthetic with it. You have the oportunity to gain a daedric noble rank and even a palace of your own. New spells, new companions and new challenges are introduced in addition to the things I've mentioned above. Not only that, but while small in comparison to Cyrodil, the isles are a whole new stomping ground with new quests, characters and dungeons to enjoy. Sheagorath himself plays a major part in the main quest and is a must see in the flesh (I like it when he threatens you with disembowelment in that cheery voice of his).

All in all, a rather smart little expansion. Perhaps I'm being a bit fussy when I call it short (I can't get enough of Oblivion) since I certainly haven't finished exploring. It certainly beats any of the community mods and there's some pretty impressive stuff out there.

Anyone played it aside from myself here?
